Choosing Chinese Medicine as a Career

This website is designed to help you make a wise decision about your professional career. If you're new to Chinese medicine and to the College, it is very likely that you have many questions about this type of medicine, and about what the College can offer you. We hope this brief but precise coverage of all program features will help you understand both of them quickly.

Since you are thinking about entering Chinese medicine and about enrolling in this College, you would be wise to read this document. It will give you an insight into what the College can offer you during your years of study.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is as old as Chinese history. It has been legalized in British Columbia in 2000. From now on, a student may choose to be enrolled in an applicable program of the College and write a licensing examination upon graduation to become a registered acupuncturist, TCM practitioner, or Dr. of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At present, most of the extended medical care agencies, such as ICBC and WCB have begun to cover acupuncture treatments. It is expected that very soon other agencies will follow suit. Traditional Chinese medicine is promising to become a well-established health profession in the Western world. This development is certainly beneficial to all patients who are looking forward to regaining their good health, and it is also encouraging to those who wish to seek a career in this health profession.
